Carrickmines is a suburb of Dublin in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, an area still considered semi-rural with plenty of space for families looking to plant roots. The neighbourhood is popular due to its wide array of amenities, new development in the area and excellent transport links to Dublin city.
In terms of recreation, Carrickmines is well served. The Carrickmines Golf Club, with views over Dublin Bay, West Wood Club Leopardstown and the Carrickmines Equestrian Centre all cater to active residents in the area. For those that take their walks around the shops, Carrickmines Park is the place to be, with retail brands including Boots, Power City, Next, IKEA and more. The area is also home to some excellent restaurants and pubs, like Farmer Brown’s and the well-loved Vanilla Pod.
Families love the area due to the wide variety of primary and secondary schools in the immediate vicinity. Likewise, it’s a hub for commuters, as the area is well served by public transport: a Luas stop at Carrickmines, bus service and the nearby M50 and N11 all provide easy access to Dublin city centre.
Where can one settle down in Carrickmines? The area is a growing suburb, with new estates cropping up nearly every day. Family homes, semi-detached, detached or terraced, make up a good bit of stock in the area, but Carrickmines is home to a large number of apartments as well, proving that there is something for residents of every age bracket in this popular Dublin suburb.
