Leading UK healthcare specialist Ultrasound Direct Ltd, which also incorporates the scanning service Babybond, is preparing to double high-end equipment capacity at its Belfast base less than a year after relocating to the Lisburn Road.

Under the guidance of commercial property agent Lisney, which was acting on behalf of a private landlord client, Ultrasound Direct Ltd continued its Northern Ireland expansion when the firm moved from a single room on Malone Road to prestigious 1,400 sq. ft. Lisburn Road location in January this year.

The clinic is now branching out further, with preparations underway to open a second scanning room to accommodate a new HD scanning machine.

Ultrasound Direct Ltd has reported a 20% growth in footfall in its 75 clinics across the UK, with the Belfast base named as one of the busiest in the UK.

Jan Steward, Co-founder of the healthcare specialist, said:

“We have experienced a huge demand in Ultrasound services in Northern Ireland since opening our first clinic in 2011.

“As a result, we made the decision to invest significantly in our operations by doubling our capacity and employing a full-time lead sonographer at our new premises on the Lisburn Road in Belfast.

“Our new clinic is much larger and in closer proximity to Balmoral Avenue and the M1 motorway network, providing ease of access from the entire Province and the Republic of Ireland. It also offers onsite parking which is a major asset.

“Our Belfast clinic is one of the busiest in the UK and, with our new HD scanning machine and second scanning room, we are looking to increase our men’s health and women’s health including fertility and MSK services offering. In time, we would hope to further increase our presence here in Northern Ireland.”
